This is the idea that was developed for the fully functional IOS application.

Working with clients

As a group we were able to work with three clients who were:

Holton Lee

We as a group were able to liase with the clients for get a better underdtanding of what product they wanted to get out of this. We all worked on the projects to get a better understanding of all companies on a personal level. Creating pitch ideas to all three of the clients, depending on which got the most potential we would follow through and develop it in to a full functional product.

LoveLoveFilm Design

One client I had to pitch against were LoveLove film. The idea was as follows.

These wireframes were the basis of the app idea. Choosing different works that LoveLovefilm have created and being able to edit different scenes yourself as the app owner. Thus creating more designs and ideas for the company themselves.

Occassion – Geocache

My first IOS application that I made was a learning curve for me. As it was learning a whole different programme cand languag. I picked up the language Swift pretty quickly and found I got myself very in to app design. This application was a Geo-location app.

For the Brief in the unit Design Iterations I had to create a Geocache Application using the software xCode which is swift coding language. To start this project I created the working title ‘Occassion’. The process of finding this working title is through a lot of researching into geocaching and what it represents, for example geocaching was originally a water proof box which held inside a log book, pencil, stamp and other items of value or trinkets. Following this original concept of geocaching and in relation creating a visualization app for the author of the geocache I found it portrays a very personal journey.

I started off by making some mock up graphics to include in the design work, that could be used as buttons. I implemented them in to tester app to see chow they looked first.

Now the for the location app to actually locate you and the geocache itself. I coded it to recognise where the applciation is opened then to three other locations, where only in the one location the geocache willbe available to access. This happens via a button that will appear only within 100 metres of the geocache itself.

Over all this IOS worked succuessfully, being my first app made me realise how much I enjoyed it and how I will carry on to do more of it in my spare time to see what else can be created.

I’ve become very familiar with the free software tool www.phpMyAdmin.net. I’ve learnt how to develop effective databases through the planning method Entry Relationship Modelling (ERM) design and then implement them into this online database software. Through using SQL I’m able to send and receive information between platforms which is extremely useful when creating a website with features such as a login page, subscription or a live feed such as twitter.

Here are examples of ERM and entering data into cells through phpMyAdmin.

This was my first website made at university. The assessment brief was set to achieve a working website with a login/logout system. This website was created using HTML & CSS, languages  I had learnt through my first year of university. I was able to use my knowledge of FileZilla to upload this site on the a server. The most challenging section I found was implementing the PHP code but I managed to make it successful. This is the final product for my holiday website.
