This week I was introduced to a software called Processing, which is a new software for me as I have never really experienced programmes that are specifically for coding.
Automatically when I saw examples of this being done, it did scare me a little bit, but now I have had a lesson on it and was told to just look at it, break it down, it becomes a lot more simple, just basic codes all compiled together. Above is something I created in a lesson where when the screen is clicked, the background will turn black, with 10 circles randomly placed in the box.
I then extended it further to make it once the mouse was clicked 10 random circles would appear and every time the mouse was clicked the circles would appear in different places each time and the background colour would change every time.
Learning basic coding terms has really helped me understand the software, as I have never experienced any coding programmes before. I find it really interesting the amount you can do with text that then can translate to something visual by just running the codes.
As confusing and complex it may be, I learnt basic coding terms.
I then spent that day on Codecademy going through the tutorials for HTML and CSS which I have found very beneficial for me, so I intend to carry on using the website for the future.
Here on Codecademy, I was taught how to insert images on to a website and then connect them to a URL of my choice.
I then carried on codycademy later that week. I was still learning HTML and it gave me tasks to do that related back to my first course, but it did not tell me the instructions. I had to remember from last time and re-do it and I found it slightly challenging, all being so new, yet very rewarding once I had completed it successfully.
This is what i managed to create at the end of my Codecademy course for the HTML.
